Cartoni Milano 40 x 60 cm

A nice cushion made of recycled cotton and wool, including an inner cushion made of recycled polyether. The pillow was made in Enschede by a social enterprise where the upholsterer profession is taught by, among other things, making these pillows as an exercise.

The sustainable cushion has the name ‘Milano’ because it is made of residual material from the exhibition presentation of sustainable interior brand Cartoni during Salone del Mobile in Milan. Enschede Textielstad developed a series of acoustic panels from recycled material together with Cartoni, which were upholstered with this pink-blue fabric. Not the full fabric width was used for the panels, which is why we had a small series of these cushions made of the fabric that remained.

The recycled fabric of the cushion has a so called changeant effect; depending on the angle from which you look at the fabric it appears to be more red or more blue.
